Mammalian Omega 3 research Cheryl MillettA study sharing the positive results of Auum mammalian omega 3

The University of Toronto has published its Research Study using Auum mammalian omega 3 seal oil in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (JISSN) and now in the US National Library of Medicine (PubMed.)

For the past several years, it has been my intention to share mammalian omega 3 because most people, including doctors, researchers and scientists, are not yet familiar with seal oil. Why do I continue to share? It is about having choice. I want to have the choice.

When I first learned about mammalian omegas in 2008, I took a deep breath and decided to try the Auum mammalian omegas. Why did I try it when my direction had been raw foods? Open to experience something completely different and still raw at the same time.  My experience was a feeling of increased mental awareness the first day. I described it as feeling taller…that got a few laughs.  Results from others continue to inspire me to be open and to educate.

The two points to this article are the results from the University of Toronto’s published study by Evan Lewis, and the science within this published study describing the difference between mammalian omega 3 and fish omega 3 which is the key reason why the University of Toronto chose Auum Inc.’s mammalian omega 3 seal oil for the study geared and focused to help elite athletes. Evan Lewis himself was on the Canadian Sailing Team.

21 days of mammalian omega-3 fatty acid supplementation improves aspects of neuromuscular function and performance in male athletes compared to olive oil placebomammalian omega 3 Evan Lewis University of Toronto seal oil

Background

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (N-3) are essential nutrients for human health and integral components of neural tissues. There is evidence that N-3 supplementation may benefit exercise performance, however, no study has investigated the ergogenic potential of N-3 supplementation. Our objective was to determine the effect of short-term N-3 supplementation on neuromuscular-function and physical-performance in well-trained athletes.

In Conclusion

21-days of N-3 PUFA supplementation increased plasma EPA N-3 PUFA concentration. Neuromuscular function was improved through increased muscle activation and sprint cycling performance was maintained from attenuated Wingate percent power drop. Our data provide a basis for further investigation of the effects of N-3 PUFA supplementation on the neuromuscular system and as an ergogenic aid for trained individuals.

Our data indicates N-3 PUFA supplementation improved peripheral neuromuscular function and aspects of fatigue with an unclear effect on central neuromuscular function. Clinical trial registration NCT0201433.

University of Toronto Picks Mammalian Omega 3 or Seal Oil Over Fish OilShop Auum Omega D3 Product of Canada

[Excerpt] Omega-3 supplementations For 21-days, participants consumed 5 mL of seal oil N-3 PUFA (5000 mg N-3 PUFA, 375 mg EPA, 230 mg DPA, 510 mg DHA and with 1000 IU vitamin D3) (Auum Inc., Timmons, On) or 5 mL olive oil (Bertolli, Mississauga, Lewis et al. Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (2015) 12:28 Page 4 of 11 Canada) with 1000 IU vitamin D added. Participants were instructed to take 2–2.5 mL servings orally twice daily, and to let the oil remain in the mouth for 1-min before swallowing to allow for sublingual absorption [14]. Seal oil was chosen as the source of experimental N-3 supplement for this study because mammalian (seal) triacylglycerol molecules have N-3 PUFA fats primarily in the sn-1 and sn-3 positions, as opposed to the sn-2 position of fish oil N-3 PUFA [15, 16]. Fats in the sn-3 position are preferentially cleaved by sublingual lipases, and the sn-1 fat is cleaved in the small intestine, while the sn-2 fatty acid is left for later esterification [14, 17]. These structural differences are thought to enable chylomicrons and chylomicron remnants containing mammalian N-3 PUFA to have a higher rate of clearance from the blood compared to fish oil intake [18].

I share this information not only for the athletes but also for the athlete within each of us. For all the many other reasons, the science shows we require the essential omega-3s and omega-6s (essential for your health because our body does not make them). In point two, mammalian omega 3 is more effectively absorbed by our bodies.  So whether you take omegas for your heart, your brain, to reduce inflammation, etc. you have the choice to try Auum oil as your omega source.

I remember the day a friend of mine, Sheldon Persad, an olympic coach, recommended that Evan Lewis of the University of Toronto get in contact with me first before selecting an omega product for his study with elite athletes – that was about three years ago. Beyond being the first one to educate Evan Lewis, I had to wait patiently for the results. The interesting thing is what happens after the published study.  Word of mouth sharing!  Isn’t this the best way?  Marketing of published research is not something the researchers do. I am doing it but you can too.  Share this information if you think it may be helpful to others.

Champion for your better health…

Before the age of 20, it never dawned on me that what I chose to put in my mouth would have such a dramatic effect on my wellbeing.
On my path of discovery, I learned that our eating choices directly affected how much energy we have first thing in the morning or that it would build our immune system strength during flu season.  I came to understand how gentle nutritional cleansing directly helped overcome my health challenges. People keep telling me how beautiful my skin is or how I look younger.
As my studies continued, it became obvious that there is an intrinsic connection between the mind, body and spirit which directly affects our health and happiness.  I learned that Omegas are another critical piece of the wellness puzzle. I became convinced when the Auum omegas alone turned on some switches in my brain in just one day.
I have developed a deep appreciation for the wonderful miracle workers our bodies are in the recovery process.  Our bodies have a natural intelligence.  I am passionate to share the connection between nutrition and wellness in my practice and my presentations.
