THERE IS NO LINK available on the yet to be published results for ‘The Effect of Mammalian Omega-3s on Diabetic Neuropathy‘. Why? Because the unpublished results are just out. The researchers are tidying up the information so to speak – crossing the ‘t’s and dotting the ‘i’s and whatever else is necessary.
Many doctors and healthcare practitioners are familiar with the complications of having diabetes. If you have diabetes or live with someone who has diabetes, you too would have or be familiar with the complications which may include neuropathy. Did the preliminary research results of mammalian Omega-3s on diabetic neuropathy wow the doctors and researchers? I was very impressed. From what I heard in the meeting, all I can share is in my professional opinion you need not wait until the study is published to try this nutriceutical intervention. Anyone with diabetes can incorporate these Omega-3s into their daily routine (consult with me to determine if mammalian Omega-3 sublingual liquid is for you and the recommended dose). Let’s first review the information below and at the same time, look forward to the research being officially published in the near future.
The preliminary results were first shared at the 14th International Congress on Neuromuscular Disorders on Friday, July 8, 2016.
Let’s start this article with the early beginnings.
Background
Over three years ago, the University of Toronto was ready to conduct a study with elite athletes regarding muscle nerve activation. One of the researchers was a member of the Canadian Sailing Team and in the past stumbled upon some difficulty in his training. With their work with athletes and hydration for the London Olympics, it was felt that something else was at the core of the difficulty.
With the research planned out, the next step was sourcing some Omega-3 supplements. Via a mutual friend, Sheldon Persad (certified coach to Olympians, etc., co-owner at Personal Best, co-founder of the Certified Professional Trainers Network (CPTN)) I was able to present the Auum mammalian Omega-3 product and its differences. I had already worked with Persad’s business partner Barrie Shepley (Canada’s National Triathlon Team coach and co-owner, Personal Best) conducting a field study using the Auum mammalian Omegas-3s with Triathletes.
Athlete Study at The University of Toronto
At the time, many researchers and doctors were not familiar with Auum mammalian Omega-3s. My role was to gage if this was a good opportunity for AUUM Canada Inc. and also (perhaps more importantly), I thought about the people (including athletes) who could potentially benefit from Auum mammalian Omegas (a naturally balanced source of Omega-6 to Omega-3 with sublingual absorption). I have a big soft spot for athletes, their passion, their discipline and drive, and more.

Diabetes Research Using Auum Mammalian Omega-3s
The University of Toronto begins putting together its research using the Auum mammalian Omega-3s and submits it to The Canadian Diabetes Association who holds an annual research competition. The well thought out research project titled ‘The Effect of Mammalian Omega-3s on Diabetic Neuropathy’ won 1st place. I was truly excited for the funding to do this research, and here are only two reasons why:
Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness in Canada. People with diabetes are more likely to develop cataracts at a younger age and are twice as likely to develop glaucoma, but diabetes’ effect on the retina is the main threat to vision. Called diabetic retinopathy, this effect of diabetes on the eyes is the most common cause of blindness in people under age 65 and the most common cause of new blindness in North America. It is estimated that approximately 2 million individuals in Canada (i.e. almost all people with diagnosed diabetes) have some form of diabetic retinopathy. – See more at: http://www.diabetes.ca/diabetes-and-you/complications/eye-damage-diabetic-retinopathy#sthash.1dKPDQ2B.dpuf
Diseases of the kidney are common in people with diabetes. In fact, up to 50% of people with diabetes demonstrate signs of kidney damage in their lifetime, but good diabetes management and regular screening can prevent or delay the loss of kidney function. http://www.diabetes.ca/diabetes-and-you/complications/kidney-disease#sthash.4EaLAXhR.dpuf
My Passion, Diabetes Volunteer Work
I spent 15+ years on a volunteer committee for the event JDF Corporate Stationary Bike-a-thon (now JDRF Revolution Ride) raising millions across Canada annually. JDF stood for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and JDRF stands for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Also, I resided on the JDF Toronto Board for 1 year before they changed gears from JDF to JDRF. A believer in finding ways to help those with diabetes whether Type I (juvenile) or Type II (adult onset).
Of all the health conditions, I was most attracted to diabetes due to its complications. Besides, blindness and kidney damage, diabetes also affects the peripheral nerves causing nerve damage which means ulcers, numbness, burning, throbbing, sharp shooting pain, tingling, etc. Read more.
In the beginning I didn’t have anyone close to me with diabetes. A Senior Vice President at Weston Foods Inc., Ralph Barnes tuned me into this condition and the volunteer opportunity. Years later, my father and other family members now have Type II Diabetes and with my background in food processing and as a Holistic Nutritionist, I understand the role of both healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle for managing diabetes.
Stepping forward to today: Two years later, the doctors, the Toronto General Hospital, the University of Toronto, waited patiently to present the research findings regarding ‘The Effect of Mammalian Omega-3s on Diabetic Neuropathy‘ – first at the 14th International Congress on Neuromuscular Disorders.
Unpublished Preliminary Results on The Effect of Mammalian Omega-3s on Diabetic Neuropathy
On Sunday, July 10, 2016 as I prepared myself with note paper and pen for the AUUM Canada Inc. meeting. Silently, I was excited about what the results were going to be. Patience is my middle name as I conversed with the others in the room.
I learned why this study, why omegas, why diabetic neuropathy, how many participants in the study, etc. The other fundamental importance lies in the way the researchers select the participants, what equipment they use to measure, the dosing amount, etc.
The research results were impressive but are not yet published, therefore any other information I share will have to wait for the publication.
From a holistic practitioner’s point of view, an improvement in corneal nerve fiber length sounds very GOOD indeed. From the presentation, I learned that there is currently no nutriceutical intervention for Diabetic Neuropathy – the medical focuses on two areas, insulin/glycemic management and symptom/pain management.
Mammalian Omega-3, a Choice
Everyone is unique. In my opinion, results are individual and could differ based on the various lifestyle factors, such as exercise, sleep, dietary habits, EMFs, stress factors, etc. I highly recommend that those affected with diabetes neuropathy and with the desire of trying Auum mammalian omega-3 as an intervention NEED ONLY safely consume the Omega-3 oil. In addition to lifestyle habits, the user dosage and length of time would be factors. I would recommend sublingual liquid for more effective absorption versus the capsules. There is the D-Boost product for easy to take capsules.
One thing I like to do is helping the people – diabetic neuropathy or other. Auum’s mammalian omega-3s are unique so I will communicate with healthcare professionals and practitioners and informed consumers. Mostly because I like to educate and share possibilities. Also sales because I get to follow-up and hear the results first hand.
Why AUUM Mammalian Omega-3
AUUM mammalian omega-3s come from an aquatic mammalian, the harp seal. Seal oil is the other name. The processing of the oil is key as AUUM does not highly process it so essentially it is a raw and whole food supplement.
This source of omega-3 versus fish and plant omega-3 is proven to be 30% more effectively absorbed by our system. It is sublingually absorbed…but not if it is highly processed. Article on Fish Oils and Oxidization.
For more information, to purchase, etc. contact me and/or share this article with people you care about. You may not know what neuropathy is BUT they will – pain, numbness, deformity, ulcers, gangrene, etc.
In closing, I appreciate the work of the researchers and doctors on conducting The Effect of Mammalian Omega-3s on Diabetic Neuropathy research, and to AUUM Inc. for providing the product for the research study. I look forward to the published results so I can share them with you.

Champion for your better health…
Before the age of 20, it never dawned on me that what I chose to put in my mouth would have such a dramatic effect on my wellbeing.
On my path of discovery, I learned that our eating choices directly affected how much energy we have first thing in the morning or that it would build our immune system strength during flu season. I came to understand how gentle nutritional cleansing directly helped overcome my health challenges. People keep telling me how beautiful my skin is or how I look younger.
As my studies continued, it became obvious that there is an intrinsic connection between the mind, body and spirit which directly affects our health and happiness. Omegas are another critical piece of the wellness puzzle. In just one day, Auum omegas alone turned on some switches in my brain.
I have developed a deep appreciation for the wonderful miracle workers our bodies are in the recovery process. Our bodies have a natural intelligence. Passionate to share the connection between nutrition and wellness in my practice and my presentations.
