Let’s chat about a hot subject these days! Menopause Teachings will attempt to take the mystery out of menopause or bring in the clarity of natural circumstances. Over the years menopause has gain recognition and has come forth into books, articles, medical practices, medication, uncomfortable symptoms, and of course, conversation. Menopause has a reputation as being an unwanted thing (oh no…hot flashes) but I will share that it is as natural as the nose on your face.
What is Menopause
Menopause is the period of time where the menses ceases and the next physiological stage begins. The difference is the change MAY cause symptoms BUT it is natural for your body speaks to you.
Let’s embrace menopause teachings and accept the symptoms. This article is meant to empower you to be at ease and perhaps contemplate lifestyle adjustments. To begin with, when was the term menopause first brought into the light?

News Flash…Introducing Menopause Teachings
The invention of the word ‘Menopause’ was a coined term created by French physician Charles Pierre Louis de Gardanne in the 1800’s (1812, official 1821). Words are created for ongoing conversations and school teachings (clarity). Can you imagine no words/books and no images…I dare say what would the schools do? What would the students have to study from? [*who writes the books and teachings in the first place]
Menopause comes from the Greek language μήν (mḗn) or mēn (month, related to the moon) and παῦσις (paûsis) (noun) (pause). Makes you say hmmm…where did the word ‘man’ ‘men’ come from. All of us are Man…and there isn’t just 26 letters in the alphabet, there is 52 (lower case and upper case)…52 cards in a deck of cards. Questioning is fun?!
History of Menopause
Context: Before this invention, the cessation of menstruation was not recognized as a distinct physiological event with a specific medical name, often being referred to as the “critical age” or associated with vague symptoms like “hysteria.” – History of Menopause

I highly recommend that you read History of Menopause to fully comprehend the earlier times, the surgeries and recommended drugs. You can ditch the part about the therapies – HRT.
In those times and since fertility was of value, were women considered less valuable when menses ceased? And was experiments conducted where ovaries were removed (due to the change in mental state)? #Question
One Doctor’s Perspective
Doctor Guinot (not sure of spelling, deceased and cannot find him anywhere on the world wide web) from France taught in Canada on women’s health (attended his Toronto 4 day course in 2008*). Something I would never forget…one of my key take-aways is when Dr. Guinot said “the women’s uterus is a garbage can.” Excess waste (metabolic waste and external toxins) is eliminated via the women’s menses. Makes sense and the elimination part would be a very good thing.
*Tidbit: Just remembering that it was at Dr. Guinot’s course that I was first introduced to Auum seal oil by a holistic nutritionist during one of the breaks. She says “I will connect you with the President of the company” and still, I look forward to learning about anything that would help others (simplistic, natural and common sense).
When the topic of menopause came up at any of my presentations, I just had to share these insights.

Menopause Teachings
If the uterus can be an organ of elimination for women during menses, that would be a very good thing. It is known that excess iron can be eliminated this way.
So what happens when the moon cycle and menses ceases (as natural as that is)? This channel would be unavailable.
Their whole life, men sweat to eliminate waste products and to cool down. Women do the same thing pre menses and post menses. Hence the hot flashes when they are needed. Notice that hot flashes happen at times during the sleep when the body is balancing/cleansing or at times when triggered by certain foods/drinks that I would consider toxic for the body (more or less depending on the woman) – at best, these are a stress on the elimination organs/body. Some of these foods include caffeine, sugars, and alcohol.
The body’s health of its elimination organs come into scope here. How healthy is your liver, your kidneys, your digestive system, lymph system, and your skin? How is your sleeping habits, eating habits, and stress levels? How is your energy levels?

What to do with these Menopause Teachings?
The above shares would not put women at a disadvantage. At best, you have a new way of looking at menopause. Every woman is unique in their biology, chemistry and thinking. Below is only some broad solutions and suggestions. Everyone requires to put on their detective hat if need be.
- One – you can better support your elimination processes and organs (i.e. liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, skin and digestive system)
- Two – you can manage the food and liquids that uniquely trigger your hot flashes and menopause symptoms (love your liver and kindness to you)
- Three – manage stress and worry (better digestion)
- Four – get proper rest and sleep (energy conservation)
- Five – some stretching and create an activity routine that fits you (lymphatic health)
Drop the Toxins and Watch What Unfolds
For almost twenty years, I have seen how clean diets/cleanse programs/routines (simple and gentle) make a significant difference in people’s health – not only for weight management. It typically calls for lighter meals and a cleaner diet. Some days are liquid only (optional) which gives the body a break. Besides dropping several pounds (if you have it to loose but even the thinnest people could loose some toxic wastes), the side benefits may be clearer thinking and more energy. For both women and men!

Curious, after reading this article, what runs through your mind?
Just before the age of 50, my menses ceased. I did have the odd hot flash (due mostly to eating sugar foods and drinking alcohol) but the episodes didn’t last long and drinking water helped. This is normal as the body is learning to sweat again. Night sweats are natural when the body needs to eliminate toxins. You may remember night sweats when you had the flu. It is one of the ways to sweat it out – to get the toxins out. Fevers and heat are necessary to open up the channels and eliminate.
To comprehend the nature of our body and the root causes of all diseases, is to learn about the seven stages of disease. Seriously, the symptoms of menopause and the rise in cancer rates are explainable. A little knowledge goes a long way…at least as a first step, you will learn about it.

The book I wrote for everyone and all ages: In the book ‘All Guts All Glory,’ the seven stages are written in detail. Grateful for medical doctor named J.H. Tilden and his decades of work. It does baffle me as to why the health industry believes ‘inflammation’ is the cause of disease. It is only the fourth stage. Many say that it starts in the gut and this is not entirely true either. Inflammation is the fever, the heat, the redness, the pain…giving you an indication that something is going on.
Our body is truly a miracle and life is to live through the various experiences, the growth, and with the possibility of being at peace.
Enjoy your day your way…set an intention for what you want and the greater messages will come forth.
Your humble holistic health practitioner,
Cheryl
