Hamburger Origins

What does the Sunshine Hamburger recipe contain? What is in the name Sunshine Hamburger? To begin, it is a type of hamburger, one bun or two, or none. The name hamburg may humbly trail back to the 1800s in Hamburg, Germany. I knew that there was no ham or pork in a hamburger hence my curiosity.

To my surprise, the early beginnings point to Asia. This is where some Germans saw people softening their meat between their saddles before they consumed the tenderized meat at their next stop. I guess we can say ‘tender as she goes’ when we think of hamburgers. Let the truth be known, the name hamburg meat came from Hamburg the city in Germany but the name hamburger may be from one of several people at a local fair in the U.S.A. Is it possible that more than one person came up with the idea? Absolutely. It would be more practical to put meat between slices of bread for ease of eating with our hands while exploring the goings-on at the fair.

Open Up Your Heart (and let the sunshine in!)

All Rights goes to The Wrights

Mommy told me something a little girl should know
It’s all about the Devil and I’ve learned to hate him so
She says he causes trouble when you let him in the room He will never ever leave you if your heart is filled with gloom

So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in

When you are unhappy, the Devil wears a grin
But oh, he starts a-running when the light comes pouring in I know he’ll be unhappy ’cause I’ll never wear a frown Maybe if we keep on smiling he’ll get tired of hangin’ around

So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in

If I forget to say my prayers the Devil jumps with glee
But he feels so awful, awful, when he sees me on my knees
So if you’re full of trouble and you never seem to win
Just open up your heart and let the sun shine in

So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Smilers never lose and frowners never win
So, let the sun shine in, face it with a grin
Open up your heart and let the sun shine in

Champion for your better health…

Before the age of 20, it never dawned on me that what I chose to put in my mouth would have such a dramatic effect on my wellbeing.
On my path of discovery, I learned that our eating choices directly affected how much energy we have first thing in the morning or that it would build our immune system strength during flu season. Part of it was coming to understand how gentle nutritional cleansing directly helped overcome my health challenges. People keep telling me how beautiful my skin is or how I look younger.
As my studies continued, it became obvious that there is an intrinsic connection between the mind, body, and spirit which directly affects our health and happiness. Omegas are another critical piece of the wellness puzzle. The Auum omegas alone turned on some switches in my brain in just one day.
I have developed a deep appreciation for the wonderful miracle workers our bodies are in the recovery process.  Our bodies have natural intelligence.  I am passionate to share the connection between nutrition and wellness in my practice and my presentations.
